This piece has a graceful flow from the top rim to the base. The many branch intersections (knots) has added considerably to the grain patterns. the mixture of heart wood (red) and sap wood (orange) interact to create contract that draws the eye through the vertical aspects of the piece. The pyrography was added to bring more focus to the rim with the eye following it down towards the base.
