At the November 2008 meeting of the Carolina Mountain Woodturners (CMW), Jacques Vesery was the demonstrator. During the lunch break he critiqued the pieces represented in the "Instant Gallery." The "Instant Gallery" is a display of pieces brought in by CMW members to display what they have created over the last month. Jacques stated that he has never seen anyone create a piece with two feet. The bottom of this unique piece was designed to show off the pith's darker feature against the light color of the Maple.
